VOLLEYBALL BYLAWS
1. ADMINISTRATION: The
Volleyball Program will be administered by the Sports Director of Sports
City.
2. RULES OF PLAY: Current
National Federation of High School Sports (NFHS) rules will govern play
except where amended by these bylaws.
3. MATCHES: Games will be the
best three out of five. All games will be rally point.
- A game will be to 25
points. A team must win by two points or the first team to score 27
points.
4. MATCH PROCEDURES: A team may
have as many players as they desire on their bench/roster.
- Substitutions will be
unlimited, but may only be made for the player
or the position that was
removed from the game.
- Players may go to the bench
during time outs.
- Each team will be allowed
two 1 minute time outs per game.
- There will be a two minute
rest period between games.
- A coin toss will be held
for the 1st and 3rd game to determine serve.
5. TEAM COMPOSITION: A team
will start six (6) players at the beginning of each game. A team must
have a minimum of five (5) players to start a match.
- In the event of an injury
and no substitutes are available, teams will
be allowed to complete the
match with four (4) players. If an eligible substitute arrives,
before the completion of the match, he may replace the injured player.
COED:
A team will start six (6) players;
three (3) men and three (3) women at the beginning of each game. A team
must have a minimum of five (5) players (3 men and 2 women or 2 men and
3 women) to start a match.
- In the event of an injury

be allowed to complete the
match with four (4) players. If an eligible substitute arrives,
before the completion of the match, he may replace the injured
player.
6. GAME TIME: Line-ups must be
turned in to the scorekeeper by scheduled game time or forfeit the first
game. In a match which is delayed, due to a previous match, the line-up
will be required immediately upon completion of the match.
- The second game will be
forfeited at 15 minutes after the scheduled game time.

Game time/date will be
published on the website and a printed copy will be provided to each
coach for their team.
7. STATEMENT:
The Sports Manager reserves the right to change or alter any of the
above, with the best interest of all concerned. Any changes in
scheduling or rules will be placed in writing and made available to all
teams in advance.
